I make talking sticks through embellsing driftwood and beaver sticks (the sticks once beavers are done using them) through woodburning. What is a talking stick?
Talking sticks come from an ancient tradition of deep listening. In our current noisy, distracted, fast-paced world all our relationships can benefit from using this time tested ritual. Use wherever ALL voices need to be respectfully heard.
 
How do you use a talking stick?
Sit in a circle (if only two people, sit knee to knee) The person holding the stick speaks from the heart. No time limit.
All in attendance are expected to listen with respect, support, compassion and silence (turn off your phone).
Interrupting the holder is not allowed
When the holder of the stick has finished speaking, the stick is handed to the next person wanting to share.
If the receiver does not wish to speak, it is passed to the next person (always optional)
